I started to explore joinery by making a frame using oak, using the machines that we have at school. I used a Doweled Lap Joint technique as well as a Splined Miter Joint technique. Through this process of learning I found that precision is necessary when using wood. I started by using scrap wood then once I was confident enough with the machines I moved on to my final oak wood piece. I also explored joinery by creating 3d printed joints. I used Rhino to complete the joints, and I intentionally wanted a modernist look with the joints.
